CONNECTION POINT
At
Southside Alliance
Church
Wednesdays
6:30-8:00 PM
September - December 2010

We will start with family time. Every week, the entire CP family will come together in the sanctuary and have some time to help us focus on God before we head off to our activities. Leave the chaos of work and school behind before the lessons even start. Refresh your minds and spirits with the presence of God. Watch for details throughout the school year for upcoming special nights or events.

Due to the large number of children attending on Wednesday nights, Children under 3 are in 2 separate classrooms.  Babies under 2 will be tucked away in the nursery upstairs. They will play together, have a snack and, if you plan it right, be ready to fall asleep in the car on the way home and be slid right into bed. (At least you can hope!)  Children between 2 and 3 will be down in the basement where they can play 'big kid' games and run around with their friends until they are picked up after class.  Both groups are well-supervised by caring adults and teens.
Children from age 3 through grade 5 will have tons of fun memorizing Bible verses, playing games, singing songs, and learning how to apply God’s word to their everyday lives in Faithweaver Friends. They can earn special tokens, do service projects, and learn some of the awesome ways that God moves in all of our lives from committed, caring and enthusiastic adult leaders!
Middle School (graded 6-8) call themselves "S.W.A.T.", or "Students With a Testimony"  They play crazy games, develop deeper friendships with each other and adults at the church, and dig into God's Word every week.  These great kids are also exposed to ways they can serve Jesus in the church family, their school community, and the greater world.

High School students have an opportunity to join one of the adult classes, or volunteer in the childnren's areas.  They meet for fun and outreach on Sunday nights at 6:30 pm, and for topical studies on Sunday morning at 8:30 during Sunday School.

ENCOUNTER is for young adults from high school graduation on up.  This passionate group of people is currently studying "Love and Respect" a study on the communication styles and needs of men and women.  The information is relevant to work, church and personal relationships, so come hear what the Bible has to say about how we deal with each other!
There are also fun activities throughout the year!  Check the calendar to find out which day they will be meeting next.  Click here to find The Bridge on Facebook.

Also new to Southside this year are topical classes for adults.
We will have several opportunities for people to study from God’s Word in areas that affect their lives every day. Check out all of the options below:
 1. “Love Dare” is a study based on the Christian film "Fireproof".  There are 8 sessions on building a Biblically sound marriage; homework, discussion anad class work will help you understand the true nature of loving your spouse unconditionally and sacrificially.  This class is specifically for young married couples and is taught by Eirik & Sara Nelson.

2. “Connection Point Matters” is a series of discussions designed to help you understand church membership, ministry, maturity and mission.  This class is taught by Pastor John Teschan and Pastor Chris McKinster, and is designed for those who are new to a personal relationship with Christ, new to Southside Alliance Church, or who want to become more active and committed to the church community.  It's especially good if you keep hearing "Get connected" but don't know why or how!
3. “Firm Foundation:  Creation to Christ” is a class that examines the Bible chronologically to see how the God who reveals Himself in the Old Testament keeps His promise with the birth, ministry, death and resurrection of His son Jesus Christ in the New Testament.  Steve & Diane Stroobants teach this class.

4. “Excellent Wife” is a deep BIble study designed just for women.  Spend time in the Word about marriage, prayer, sacrifice and love for your husband.  Barb Klaves will be teaching this class.

5.  "Just Enough Light for the Step I'm On" is a book by Stormie Omartian about prayer.  This book includes a devotional and is designed to deepen the prayer life of women, and to develop trust in the One True God.  This class is taught by Cindy Teschan.

6.  "A Man and His Time" is a class for men led by Bill Kerwin.  It will cover the ways that men show their priorities and how they can realign them to reflect God's priorities for them.  This book is designed to challenge and strengthen a man's walk with God.
